Who are Pioneer Creek Rangers?
The club was established by some enthusiastic black-powder shooters in Pretoria in 2005 as a gun club to practice and promote the sport of black powder western action shooting. Pioneer Creek Rangers is a non-racial, non-gender discriminating and non-political organisation and is open to anyone with similar interests.
Visitors are welcome and may shoot, subject to a briefing by the Range Officer on the safety rules, completing an indemnity form and paying the daily range fee.
Ear and eye protection must be worn at all times by all shooters, officials and spectators near the firing line when shooting is in progress.
Range fees are payable when the attendance register is signed. Non-members will not be permitted to shoot without paying the daily fee. All shooters and spectators are required to sign an indemnity form and complete the attendance register.
Club meetings are held on the second, fourth and fifth (if applicable) Saturdays of each month. On a typical day members start arriving around 7 am and activities start about 8 am with a "Cowboy breakfast" of bacon & beans, followed by shooting from 9 to 12 am (or later, depending on planned activities).

How to find us
We use the Defence Force shooting range to the south of Pretoria opposite the Voortrekker Monument. The turn-off is in Eufees road (M7), roughly half-way between the Ben Schoeman (N14) and the Old Jo'burg Road (R 101, Jan Smuts Drive).
You turn south off Eufees onto a dirt road and follow this, keeping right at the split, until you turn left towards an entrance flanked by two cannon-shells. Go through the entrance and follow this road (which is not in good condition) until you get to the top – our range is just to the left.
See the following map for directions.
